My favorite animal on the planet to photograph. They're solitary, hard to find, exotic, and beautiful. Every time I see one I feel I'm amongst the most privileged people on the planet (I should say "reminded" that I'm amongst...given what I do for a living, I "am" amongst the most privileged...) seeing something special and unique.
The challenge is that 50% of leopard sightings don't result in a good photo. They're often skittish, or hiding from the harsh sun in the branches of a tree, hidden from a good view, or in tall grasses where you can hardly see them. In this case, we found this young male in the tall grass, but he afforded us a clean shot along a path where the grass was lower. I was so excited for my photo safari tour guests that they got to see this. Male leopard, Okavango Delta, Botswana.
