Leopards are famous for their ability to stalk prey without being detected. Their spotted coats provide excellent camouflage, allowing them to approach animals while remaining hidden among grass, bushes and rocky terrain.
A warthog, however, can be a surprisingly difficult target. Although it may look smaller than a leopard, it possesses powerful tusks and can react aggressively when cornered. A hunt can therefore become dangerous if the prey realizes what is happening.
When a leopard attacks a warthog, speed and surprise are critical. The leopard needs to control the situation quickly before the warthog can turn and use its tusks or escape toward a burrow.
Wildlife footage showing these encounters can become particularly dramatic when the prey refuses to behave as expected. Instead of simply running away, the warthog may turn around and confront its attacker.
That creates the perfect wildlife story: the predator believes it has found an opportunity, but the prey suddenly fights back. In nature, size alone never guarantees an easy victory.
